Dancer, creator and tap teacher.
Degree in Sociology from the University of Barcelona.
Laia has been part of many companies and collaborated with different shows including: Big Band of Granollers; with the Locomotora Negra, Barcelona Rhythm Tap, directed by Guillem Alonso, «Djellaba Groove» by Roxane Butterfly and «Tapeplas» by Sharon Lavi, among others.
Laia is currently part of the companies/groups: Molins & Mezquida Duo (with pianist Marco Mezquida), Tap Olé; 2×3 (along with flamenco dancer Núria Ventura), ExhiBeat. She is also a soloist for different musical groups such as «Gumbo Jazz Band» and «Men in Swing».
From 2002-2020, she has been president of the «Tot pel Claqué» Association in Barcelona, organizing different activities to promote tap dancing, such as the «Tap in the Street» for International Tap Day, among others.
Since 1998 Laia has taken part in improvisation sessions in Barcelona such as the monthly Tap Jam, which she now coordinates.
In 2019, she created the social entity, Ritme i Compromís, a social transformation project that uses rhythm, movement and taping to improve the quality of life of people at risk of social exclusion.
As an educator, she teaches regularly at the Luthier School of Dance and Music in Barcelona, and at the Núria Ventura School in St. Celoni, and is also a guest artist at various international events: France, Cuba, Switzerland, Italy, among others.
