Roser Font

Roser studied acting, singing and in particular dancing: ballet, contemporary, ballroom dancing, musical theatre, hip-hop, jazz and tap.

As an actress, dancer and singer she performed in the musical Fiddler on the Roof. She was a tap dancer in an advertising campaign with the company Stomp and in the percussion and tap dance show Trashots.

Roser was also in the Saxtap show and has worked reguraly with the company Els Comediants as a solo dancer. She has also performed in the show Enramblao of the well-known flamenco dancer Rafael Amargo, among other shows.

Roser has been a company member of Barcelona Rhythm Tap since 1999, directed by Guillem Alonso, with whom she has performed in numerous theaters and on television.

 

She is one of the creators and choreographers of the show Boogie Woogie Tap.

Throughout 2000-02 she was a tap soloist, jazz and Irish dancer in the successful production Fire of Dance, touring around Europe.

 

Roser is one of the creators and performers of the company and show Tap Olé, which premiered at the Vittum Theatre of Chicago in 2003 and won the Audience Award at the Festival Internacional de Valladolid in 2004.

The company performed in New York, Helsinky, Boston, Dusseldorf, Croatia, Italy, Panama and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007, 2008 and 2010 with great reviews and audience success.

In November 2009 the company premiered their second show Tapeando in Barcelona, the show toured Germany in March 2010 and the company performed at the Peacock’s Theatre, London in May 2011.

 

Roser is also the director, choreographer and dancer of Trakatap.

As a leading member of the tap community in Barcelona, Roser teaches reguraly at Escola Luthier de Danza in Barcelona and is part of the faculty for the Professional Tap Training Programme. She has given workshops around the world and has been one of the main tap dancers at the monthly Tap Jams in Barcelona.
